About the Project

The regeneration of native forest is being promoted through landholders ceasing suppression activities. The project focuses on lands that have had a long history of management under agricultural regimes, but for which there is good potential for the natural regeneration of native forest where suppression activities, such as mechanical clearing and tree felling, are removed. Project sites include locations in central and western new south wales and queensland, where landholdings are typically large. The project involves a number of private landholders, who are now integrating carbon project activities into their broader farming enterprise.

Project Co-Benefits

Promoting the recovery of native forest in landscapes subject to past clearing delivers a number of biodiversity and environmental co-benefits, as well as helping to promote the uptake of carbon projects and vegetation retetntion practices by local landholders.
