About the Project

Native eucalypt trees have progressively been planted by CO2 Australia into heavily cleared, often degraded, farmland within central New South Wales across the past decade. Plantings include tree belts integrated into existing farming operations, and larger consolidated plantings delivering larger scale abatement outcomes. Tree species have been selected for drought, disease and fire tolerance. For some projects, revenue share arrangements have been negotiated with landholders, so that proceeds from carbon sales flow back to landholders.

Project Co-Benefits

Revegetation in what are otherwise heavily cleared landscapes delivers a number of biodiversity and environmental co-benefits, as well as helping to promote the uptake of carbon projects and tree planting by local landholders.
